Terms and conditions

Version 2026-10-05.2. These terms apply to Calmer (https://mycalmer.life). By creating a Calmer account you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What Calmer is

Calmer is a private site for organising your life: a calendar, a to-do list, notes and a whiteboard. You can also create extra pages (for example “Shopping”, or a second calendar) and share them with people you choose.

Calmer runs in the browser and can also be added to your mobile home screen. It is the same site and the same data.

The service is provided “as is”, in a closed, invite-only phase: only addresses on the access list can register. It may change, pause or stop while it is still being built.

2. What Calmer is NOT for

Calmer is a personal organiser. It is not a medical, financial or legal record system, and must not be used to store clinical histories, diagnoses, test results, full banking data, official legal documents, or any record that a medical, financial or legal decision depends on.

Calmer is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, clinical monitoring, financial advice or legal advice. It is never a substitute for a qualified professional.

Please do not enter special category data (health, ethnicity, beliefs, sex life, biometric or genetic data) or payment details. A reminder such as “doctor on Tuesday” should be treated as a diary note, not a health record.

Reminders in Calmer are notes you write; the site does not guarantee alerts. In a medical emergency, call your local emergency services, and never rely on Calmer for critical medication or health reminders.

3. Your account

You must be at least 16 and confirm this when signing up, using a valid email address that belongs to you and is on the access list.

You can sign in with Google or with your email and 4-digit passcode on devices you have marked as trusted. If you use Google, use the same email you were invited with. That passcode is personal: you are responsible for keeping it secret and for activity on your account.

You may not share your account or try to access someone else's account. Sharing a page is the proper way to work with someone.

You can delete your account and all its content from the account panel; deletion is permanent.

4. Pages and shared spaces

Everything you create is private by default and only you can see it. Alongside the five built-in pages (Calendar, To-do, Notes, Write and Whiteboard) you can create new or duplicate pages from the “+” button in the navigation strip.

Any page can be shared by inviting an email address or generating a share code, with view-only or edit permission. Anyone with edit access can change and delete content on that page, so remove access when it is no longer needed.

Before writing something in a shared page, check which page you are on: anything created there is visible to the other participants.

5. Content you add

You keep ownership of everything you write or upload. You give us only the technical permission needed to store it, sync it across your devices and show it back to you inside the site.

You can upload images and files, and save links that appear as cards with a title and preview. You confirm you have the right to use that material.

Do not upload unlawful or harmful content, or other people's sensitive data without their consent.

Each account has a testing-phase storage limit. You can see it under “Usage” in the account panel; once reached, everything you already created keeps working until space is freed.

6. Deleting and the recycle bin

Items you drag to the bin can be restored for around 24 hours; after that they are permanently removed.

The bin is a safety net, not a backup. Export or separately keep anything you cannot afford to lose.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to breach the service's security, extract other people's data, reverse-engineer the site, or use it for spam or unlawful activity.

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

8. About Calmer and AI

Although the software development of Calmer has involved the use of AI for coding and design, the experience we aim to create is intentionally crafted to help users enjoy a more organic, slower-paced relationship with their work, life, and projects.

Calmer purposefully excludes features such as AI chats, agents or automated replies from its front user experience. Everything users organise and the content they add remains under their control and ownership. Full account and data erasure is available at any time.

Users’ data is never sent to an AI service or used to train AI models.

9. Availability and liability

We do our best to keep the service available and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Cloud services can be affected by unexpected eventualities: outages, software bugs, security incidents, attacks, natural disasters, provider failures or force majeure. These may result in temporary or permanent data loss, data corruption, or unavailability of the service.

Calmer will not be liable, whether in contract or tort, for data loss, loss of profits, indirect damage, or any consequence arising from such eventualities. Our maximum liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid for the service during the period covered by the then-current refund policy.

This also applies to free-tier accounts: by using Calmer at no cost you accept the same risk of failures and data loss. Because no payment is made, no refund is available, but you still acknowledge that Calmer assumes no liability for loss of information.

Keep backups of critical information outside the site. Do not rely on Calmer as the only copy of important data.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Calmer at any time and delete your account and data from the account panel, or ask us by email.

If you delete or archive a page you were sharing, the other people lose access to it.

We may close the service with reasonable notice so you can download your information.

11. Plans, pricing and payments

Calmer has a permanent Free tier with the five built-in pages, 2 shared spaces, the Calmer and Electric blue themes, 200 MB of storage and files up to 25 MB. Once payments open, there will be three subscriptions: Personal+ (£6.99 monthly or £69.99 yearly: 5 duplicate pages, 5 shared spaces, every customisation tool and theme, 5 GB and files up to 100 MB); Calmer Studio (£10.99 monthly or £109.99 yearly: 15 duplicate pages, 15 shared spaces, 50 GB and files up to 500 MB); and Calmer Business (£29.99 monthly or £299.99 yearly: 50 duplicate pages, 30 shared spaces, 5 full team members, 30 unique guest collaborators in total, no more than 8 people per space, 500 GB pooled storage and files up to 2 GB). Each paid plan includes everything in the tier before it. Until payments are active, every account uses the free tier.

Limits belong to the subscription. On Business, 500 GB is one pooled allowance and everything uploaded by members or guests counts towards the subscription owner's limit. The owner manages invitations and is responsible for the people they add.

When the storage allowance is reached, new uploads pause: we do not charge for overages without your agreement. Existing data remains available to read. We may offer optional 50 GB blocks for £2.99 per month; they will never be added automatically.

Subscriptions renew monthly or yearly, according to the billing period chosen, and you can cancel at any time from the account panel. You keep paid features until the end of the period already paid for, with no further charges.

If a payment fails, you cancel or you downgrade, you keep read access to your data, but new uploads and creation above the available plan's limits pause. You will have at least 30 days to renew, download or reduce usage before we consider deleting data, and we will notify you before any deletion.

Reasonable use applies. You may not resell storage, use Calmer for bulk hosting or backup, automate uploads or data extraction, or generate excessive downloads or requests. We may temporarily limit abusive activity or activity that puts the service at risk.

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record: Paddle appears on your bank statement, issues your invoice and handles the sales taxes that apply in your country. The service contract remains between you and Calmer.

Calmer is not VAT-registered in the United Kingdom, so prices are shown as simple totals with no VAT added by us; any consumer tax due in your country is calculated and handled by Paddle.

If we change a plan's price, we will tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your renewal.

Refunds are governed by our refund policy, available at https://mycalmer.life/refunds.

12. If Calmer closes

We may decide to close Calmer permanently. If we do, we will tell you by email and inside the site at least 60 days in advance, unless an earlier closure is unavoidable for legal, security or reasons beyond our control, in which case we will tell you as early as we can.

From the notice, we will stop taking new subscriptions and renewals. You can keep using Calmer and download a full copy of your content (Backup, in the account panel) until the closing date.

After closure, we will permanently delete your account and content within 30 days, and technical backups within 90 days at most. We will not sell or transfer your data to anyone as part of closing. We only keep what the law requires (for example billing records, held by Paddle).

If you are on a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of your last payment, worked out pro rata from the closing date, and any payment still inside the 30-day guarantee is refunded in full. Refunds go through Paddle to your original payment method.

13. Changes and contact

If we make material changes to these terms, we will ask you to accept them again when you sign in.

You can write to us from “Support” in the account panel, at hello@mycalmer.life, or at https://mycalmer.life, for any question, data request or account deletion.
